What is the Lounge?
The Lounge allows Learners to easily watch a class and ask questions without needing to download Zoom. It also gives all Learners a place to chat before and after class and see recommended classes.
What's New In the Lounge?
Learners asked for a bigger, cleaner Lounge, and now you’ve got it! We have a larger “edge to edge”, cleaner layout in the Lounge for a better viewing experience.
When viewing on a laptop, desktop computer or large tablet, there is a consolidated Information panel on the right with the ability to chat, see class info, and explore recommended classes. You can also click on the small pictures of people to see who else is in the class.

How can I see more of my screen?
The Information Panel can be “tucked away” using the small arrow (highlighted in red above).
How do I get the Information Panel back?
Just click on the arrow (highlighted in red above) on the top right of your screen on a laptop or desktop computer.
Will I be able to see Who is in the Class?
Key information is now all in the Information Panel when on a laptop, desktop or large tablet. You can see who is in the class by clicking on the small photos of people on the upper right of the Information Panel.
What if I want to Join the Class to Interact with the Guide and other GetSetUp Learners?
You can still Join via Zoom - the Orange Join Zoom button is available in the Information Panel and on Mobile Devices. Note: This button to join Zoom is only orange and active just before the class starts and while the class is still allowing people to join.
Is the Chat in the New Lounge the same as in the Zoom Class?
No, however, your TA will be monitoring both and can assist with getting your question or information to the Guide or Community Leader.
What’s the difference between The Lounge and Zoom?
The main difference between the Lounge and Zoom is that attending a class through Zoom allows you to interact directly and immediately with the Guide.
- In the Zoom session, the Guide is able to see participants (if their camera is on) and respond directly to questions asked verbally and in the Zoom chat.
- Attending in the Lounge allows you to participate in the class without having to download Zoom but the Guide is not able to see you or hear you. As a Lounge participant you can ask questions via the Lounge chat which is monitored by a GetSetUp team member who relays questions to the Guide and posts responses back in the Lounge chat.
Whether or not you join a class by Zoom, The Lounge is open to Learners before the class begins. This is an excellent way to meet your fellow Learners or catch up with friends, before entering Zoom and the class formally starting.
